CORDOVA 6

Britt Hendricks #73 and Mitch Bledsoe#77 led the team as captains in the Oct. 11th game against the only Memphis City team played in their schedule, the Cordova Wolves.    The Dragons strike first, only 3:20 into the game.  A 75 yard drive with help in the running game from #31 Nick Sammons and a great pass from QB #7 Tucker Tubbs to #24 Ryan Davis lands the dragons on the 15 yard line.  A handoff to fullback #48 Will Parker scores 6.  The 2 point conversion is good with a pass to #14 Tyler Dixon.  The Wolves take over for an offensive drive. With 1:24 left in the first a decisive hit by #63 Ben Parrish makes the wolves take a loss of 17 yards.  This leaves 4th and 4 and #13 Nick Bouldien follows with a crushing blow and the ball turns over to the Dragons.  The 2nd quarter goes scoreless.  #35 Brandon Pitre and #37 Julius Elo made some key tackles to keep the wolves from scoring and  #3 Camden Baker makes a great play to b reak up a long Cordova pass before half time.  The Wolves come back with a vengance in the 3rd quarter to score quickly.  The 2 point conversion was stopped by a great effort from Bouldien.  Collierville takes over on their own 47 yard line.  Some great blocking by the offensive line #57Riales, #77Bledsoe, #63 Parrish, #79Cho, and #75Johnson allows the Dragons to move the ball to the Wolves 13 yard line.  Again, #48 Parker runs the ball in for another Dragon TD.  #7 Tucker Tubbs on the quarterback keeper scores the extra 2 points with 2
:45 left in the 3rd.  Cordova recieves and takes over on their own 28 yard line.  3 stops deep in Cordova backfield by defensive players #73 Britt Hendricks, #88 Nathan Nabors, and #35 Pitre stop the wolves cold in their tracks.  The Dragons have a few problems with penalties late in the 4th qtr. but keep Cordova from scoring to end the game 16-6.  Next game Home Oct. 18th against Bartlett.

ARTICLE BY HOPE SAMMONS
Collierville #3 Camden Baker receives the ball and returns it to the Collierville 36 yard line to start the game. QB #7 Tucker Tubbs begins the drive with a hand off to #31 Nicholas Sammons.  A 22 yard pass from Tubbs to #46 Bryant Cannon puts the dragons in great scoring position.  Tubbs runs 17 yards on the keeper to bring the ball down to the Houston 5 yard line.  A handoff to Sammons scores for the Dragons.  The 2 point conversion is good.  The Dragons will go on to score 4 more times in a blowout against the Mustangs.  Houston played the entire game with a no huddle offense which could have contributed to there detriment.  Our offensive line lead by #73 Britt Hendricks, #77 Mitch Bledsoe, #79 Adam Cho, #57 Bradley Riales, #63 Ben Parrish, and #75 Marcus Johnson,  did a great job blocking.  Assisting late in the game was #71 Daniel Noe and #50 Trey Brunson. The defensive line was lead by #35 Brandon Pitre, #73 Britt Hendricks, #37 Julius Elo, #78 Jared Brasher, and #68 Leighton Reed.  They did a great job holding Houston to just 2 TD’s.  Highlights of the game came in the first half with a fumble recovery by #54 Wes Johnson, a 50 yard TD run by #31 Nick Sammons, and a QB sack by #46 Bryant Cannon.
2nd half highlights are a fumble recovery by Pitre to run 50 yards to the Houston 2 yard line,  a 2 point conversion pass from Tubbs to #86 Jake Jacobs,  Nick Bouldien #13 intercepts a pass and runs back 63 yards for a TD,  and #17 Jonathan Bairds interception on the final play of the game.
